FIND OUT HOW WE CELEBRATE ORTHODOX CHRISTMAS
The peace of God lovers of travel and beautiful life! Today, many people celebrate Christmas, which is celebrated in memory of the birth day of Jesus Christ. Christmas is a celebration of the birth of new life, holiday of children and childhood, parenthood and family holiday. Some celebrate it in December, but it is useful to recall its meaning.
Regardless of your faith, no matter that you might be atheists it would be nice that today forgive everyone. Excuse other, but primarily forgive yourself! Do not let the negative things and memories pull you back. Start this year better than ever! Love yourself today and start over.
Every year, since elementary school, traditionally I have a plan for Christmas day. Although we are both raised in mixed marriages, for me that Christmas celebrated on January 7, has a special charm. I like to celebrate it this way because the year had just started, and I love new beginnings 🙂 I like to give myself a few challenges that strives to become reality by the end of the year. Past year was very successful, so we will not spoil tradition, we hope that this will be even better!
At Christmas we should do everything that is and was difficult to us during the past year, because it is believed that when we do it on Christmas we will do it successfully during this year!
This is how we spend Christmas day …
On Christmas morning we like to sleep longer. When we get up we make coffee and enjoy a light breakfast. If it is needed we help preparing lunch. While waiting for lunch to be ready, we’re preparing table. Today we enjoy the view of the snow falling 🙂 We are trying to expand non-stop positive energy! After lunch, we rest with a book! Then watch some fun and romantic Christmas movie! And then we go for a walk, which is very much looking forward this year because of the snow that falls right now! We do our best to deal with any physical activity because last year we didnt do that a lot… In the evening we like to talk about the plans that we have for this year? We like to relax with candles, soft music and a good glass of wine!
We stick to this tradition but the most important thing is that we are together in peace and love. We live almost every day like that, full of love and the same we want to you, regardless of whether you celebrate today or not!
THE STORY OF 4 CANDLES…
The Four Candles burned slowly.
Their ambiance was so soft you could hear them speak…
The first candle said, “I Am Peace, but these days, nobody wants to keep me lit.”
Then Peace’s flame slowly diminished and went out completely.
The second candle said, “I Am Faith, but these days, I am no longer indispensable.”
Then Faith’s flame slowly diminished and went out completely.
Sadly the third candle spoke, “I Am Love and I haven’t the strength to stay lit any longer.”
“People put me aside and don’t understand my importance.
They even forget to love those who are nearest to them.”
And waiting no longer, Love went out completely.
A child entered the room and saw the three candles no longer burning.
The child began to cry,
“Why are you not burning? You are supposed to stay lit until the end.”
Then the Fourth Candle spoke gently to the little boy,
“Don’t be afraid, for I Am Hope, and while I still burn,
we can re-light the other candles.”
With shining eyes, the child took the Candle of Hope
and lit the other three candles.
Never let the Flame of Hope go out.
With Hope in your life, no matter how bad things may be,
Peace, Faith and Love may shine brightly once again.
