NIJE VIC PAS MALTEZER KAO IMIGRANT / IT IS NOT FUNNY STORY MALTESE DOG AS AN IMMIGRANT

Naš tim ima 2,5 člana, pored nas dvoje tu je i on. Težak svega 4 kg, glasan koliko i brodska sirena. Uglavnom je beo. Maltezer Keni.

Ok, to i nije neki problem.

Za ovo smo saznali tek 10 dana pred sam polazak na more.

Our team has 2.5 members, beside the two of us, there is Kenny. Weighing only 4 kg, loud as the ship’s horn. He is mostly white. Maltese Kenny. We decided to take him with us to the sea holiday. We bought him a towel, sunglasses and a boat, and then we ran into a bureaucracy. How we won, read below.

If you leaving  the country with your pet, you need to have his passport, proper vaccination and microchip and confirmation from veterinarian about the health of the dog. Ok, this is not a problem. BUT…

If you travel to a country which is a member of the EU, you must have analysis of height titer levels in blood  of your pet. So, the vet took a blood of your pet, and sends it to the laboratory. If the test shows that the height is greater than the lower limit prescribed by the EU, you will receive a certificate of that, with regular vaccine, valid for life and you can travel as much as you wont with your pet. We recommend you to start doing this at least 3 months before vacation with the preparation of paperwork. And no, do not look at us, we’re not doing this. Here’s how we got away..

We found out for this 10 days before the departure. We knew there was no way that analyses could be completed on time. So I took all possible paperwork that we had about Kenny and made many, many copies. The folder have had close to 100 sheets of paper with nonsense copies of unnecessary documents (pedigree, data kennel, copies of passports, many other things). The idea was to give them a folder, so if it is so important, they must find what they need. As we travel by car, we thought that we will succeed to smuggle our own dog. We arrived at the border. Columns of cars waiting at the crossing. Tension in the car was present. I climbed into the back seat and the steering wheel is taken over by another driver. When we approached the customs officer, I dropped Kenny under the seat and started to feed him with  an integral breadsticks to prevent barking. We did it. OMG, we did it. We crossed the border and we were on the territory of Greece.

Good for us. Of course we do not advise to do it this way and no, we are not proud with this story. If we had known, we would prepare all necessary documents. That analysis costs about 70e.

Otherwise, Kenny don’t love integral breadsticks anymore. 🙂
