PUTOPIS

Prvi autobus smo uhvatili relativno lako.

Prolazimo kroz banju. Deluje pusto i mirno.

Stižemo do Ovčarsko-Kablarske klisure.

Hvala Turističkoj Organizaciji Srbije, Čačka i Kraljeva.

We like to pack and drag bags. Then we feel alive and know that wherever we go we will see and learn something new. This time we did not make a mistake.
It’s fun to explore Serbia. That morning we had coffee on Silver Lake. We set off to Belgrade. Crowds on the highway was a clear sign that the weekend is close. We have in fact goal to start our journey from Silver Lake, to reach the heart of Sumadija, through the capital. As we had planned to spend weekend on the lakes of Bela Crkva, the plan was that there is no real plan. We packed in the summer mood – swimsuit, sunscreen, mini kit, jeans, shorts and a couple of shirts. The less the better.

We caught the first bus relatively easy. When we called the bus station to ask when we have bus to BG they told us – 9:15. But as it usually happens, we left at 9:05, we had the luck to learn a long time ago that the bus lines in Serbia think that time is a relative thing and that is not important to travellers at all 🙂 Charming Belgrade full of events just had the opening of Coca-Cola Pop Up Shop so crowd that before noon could not be higher. However, after a little food and ice cream (hey, you do not go on a journey just to come out there, but to enjoy the ride 😉 we arrived at a place where it is supposed to pick us up mini bus.

Waiting for little bus we met with the team. Positive energy is a good driver of good things. We have found that there are students who like to volunteer, as well as people who have not left the country, because somewhere out there is easier and nicer, but want to easy (it is certain that we have nice) bring to us. Of course, like everywhere there is the other side of the coin, and there are people who are trying to show you that they are above something? (and we know that they will come first to the site to see if we wrote something bad about them, but we will have to disappoint them because we will as always focus on the beautiful and positive things and we are happy that there were many!).

The bus was going on the Ibar highway – a fear for the average Serb from Vojvodina and Eastern Serbia. It is a winding road where restaurateurs take on who will give an interesting name to taverna. You can run on anything – small little cafe next to the road, Serbian Holywood (that sign is on the hill), a bar in which are all different chairs and umbrellas … Everyone made something out of nothing, and generally each have guests, we hope that not stopped for rakija but for good hamburgers 🙂

Finally, we arrive at Čačak. It is still light so we decided to start exploring it. Walking through the center we noticed that the city is very much alive. People were waiting in line for ice cream and then had an easy walk to the fountain while searching for the first empty bench. We find the a monument of Duke Stepa Stepanovic. We walk around the streets near down town and come to the popular pizza restaurant in which serve Pizza Gyros. A little further down the street we find the oldest Serbian tavern Czar Lazar, which was founded in 1883.
It was dinner time. We asked fellow citizens who were more than happy not only to tell us where you can eat the best in Cacak, but also to take us there. We were in the restaurant called Romansa.

Tired of road and walking we strengthened with the good wine, burgers and salads. When it comes to good food there is a rule – if it is preparing for a half an hour, it will be eaten in less than 5 minutes. Satisfied, not just because of the meal, but prices, too we went to the hotel to get some sleep. We have heard that we will have a interesting day tomorrow.
It’s morning. Clock rings. We had a nice sleep. We drink coffee and look out the window towards the city center. The crowd gathers slowly until caravan Moja Srbija (My Serbia) arrange on counter prospectuses, water, food … Everyone wants to present the best.

We are roughly familiar with daily plan . At least so we thought. Per us comes guide from the tourist Organization Cacak, we sat in the car and head to the Ovcar Banja. As we go through the streets of Cacak he introduces us the buildings that decorate this city. We enjoy the view of the countryside and mountains. Introduces us to the legend of St. Sava and explains how many hikers love this place.

We pass through the Ovcar spa. It seems deserted and quiet. The guide says there live about 150 people. They migrate to bigger towns. It seems unreal that someone left such a peace, and sold it for urban life. In the Spa is one school, one student, one teacher and one maid. The harsh reality and beautiful place where really able to enjoy the tranquility intertwine.

We’re coming to the Ovcar-Kablar gorge. We admire the untouched nature while waiting for the catamaran. The catamaran is something like a junk raft that drives tourists on the river. The trip takes about 2 hours and the price is 400 dinars. This is something that you really have to feel and experience! Wind in your hair. Many birds (they say that it is the habitat of 130 species of birds) and so beautiful nature in one place we can not find words to describe for. All this is viewed from the water!
